High-demand groups (not automatically a crime)

Spain has religious freedom. Jehovah’s Witnesses are a recognised confession. That does not make every practice wise, nor does it allow leaflets in a public hospital. A yoga or quit-smoking course can still become coercive. The test is pressure, isolation and fear of leaving — not the label ‘cult’.

• Hospital leaflets: tell Patient Services. The building is not a noticeboard for worship.
• Before you join: real name, tax ID, written price, talk to someone who left.
• A child does not sign a week-long retreat without a programme and a phone.
• If a relative is inside: do not open with ‘you joined a cult’. Keep a coffee. Notes help a professional. AIS / RedUNE. Crime (threats, emptied accounts, a minor) is 091 and the prosecutor.
